for this weeks assignment, we had to create a cannon, i immediately wanted to use this opportunity to pull up a design i didn't get to use for a previous assignment "the gunship". the idea for the gun ship was that it was a large space ship capable of launching smaller pod-like ships in a similar way how a railgun works.
there wasnt much need for a mood board since i prety much had a concept and design in mind so instead i did some research into how i wanted the cannon to work. i wanted it to do 2 things while firing, lauch the projectile via rail gun and unleash a large laser. both of these methods require large amounts of energy (railgun need a current through its magnets and a laser needs electricity to generate a continuous light source) so i thought of the idea for the cannon to have its own electric generator built in to power both (the zoomed in images showing the insides of the cannon show the result).
